Performing Arts  Summer Camp

June 23 - August 22, 2008    Monday - Friday - 7:30a - 6:00p 

Franklin Park - Davis Youth Complex  1755 East Broad Street

The Columbus Performing Arts Center and the Thiossane Institute, Inc. has partnered to host a summer of arts and outdoor adventure through dance, theater, writing and crafts. Young people ages 6 – 13 years will experience creating and developing their artistic being.  The program will be held Monday – Friday from 7:30a – 6:00p from June 23 – August 22, 2008. The summer camp will be held in the historical Franklin Park at the Davis Complex for Performing Arts, allowing us to offer environmental awareness while developing an appreciation for nature and the arts. Campers will begin their day with daily affirmations and academic enrichment. They will develop their basic coordination and skills in weekly dance classes in Modern, Jazz, and African, they will tap into their creative side in writing and arts and crafts and acquire the essentials for the theater with the collaboration of the Columbus Performing Arts Theater camps. The program will serve a morning and afternoon snack and lunch is provided by the city’s summer lunch program. The young artists will participate in weekly session in the prevention of alcohol, tobacco and drug use as well as social development, tennis and swimming.

$25 registration fee / $85 weekly camp fee, limited space
